in the details, darling | January 2018 Goals

Risking the chance that I sound cliché, did 2017 fly by or what! My year was filled with lots of celebrating! Some celebrations were for new adventures, some were to to embrace change but nevertheless, some major celebrating was done. I am not saying everything was positive, but all was looked at the glass half full type of approach. I learned, lived, loved and grew in 2017 & ready to continue to build on that!

Some of my highlights of 2017 were:

  1. Getting MARRIED
  2. Watching my “big” sister get married
  3. Watching my parents travel together & embrace LIFE
  4. Seeing more & new parts of the world!

I truly cannot believe 2018 is here! The last few weeks of 2017 were crazy for me and so I am still working to catch my breath a bit and feel like a human again which brings me to the topic of resolutions!

I am personally not a traditional resolutions kind of gal! I approach it a little differently! At the end/beginning of each month I do a personal evaluation and from there make goals for that upcoming month! I have found in the past that creating x amount of strict goals to keep the whole year was not ideal for me! I NEEDED to revisit & reevaluate throughout the year. I found doing this monthly made for a better me! With that being said, I do keep three goals every month that I believe are important to do on a consistent basis! I may add more as the year goes but starting with three as my sweet spot. However, the other three change monthly!

Now that I rambled on about how I approach resolutions, I will share my three that are consistent for and my three that are the center of my focus for January!

  1. Journal every morning & evening! This is all made possible through my FAVORITE journaling tool – The Five Minute Journal
  2. Drink a gallon of water a day
  3. Have a date with Jack
  4. SLOW DOWN & take in every moment!

Specific resolution focuses for January

  1. Print & hang up wedding pictures!
  2. Complete everything! Do not leave anything unfinished daily.
  3. STOP SNOOZING MY ALARM.

I will report back at the end of the month to see if I was able to hold strong in January & share what’s in store for February!

Happy 2018!
