in the details, darling | August 2018 Goals

The first few days of August are officially under the belt + I am liking how the month is starting. If I haven’t mentioned before, I am an old soul at heart so I was in my glory this past weekend with nothing to do but be productive at home. Sometimes my need for being a homebody really skyrockets + now is a current time. I don’t know if it’s because I am in the creative zone + just want to find the time to dive into all my ideas or time is just going by so quickly this is my mechanism of slowing it down. Regardless, I have been loving just being home!

I have spent some time reviewing my calendar + I feel like this month is going to be over quicker than it started. I may have dated myself with that sentence. Either way, I am ready to dive in + make things happen! I have recapped my July below + talking about where my focus will be in August ↡

Reoccuring Goals Review:

  1. Journal every morning & evening! This is all made possible through my FAVORITE journaling tool – The Five Minute Journal I missed some days, which is not my favorite, but I will get back on track. I love being able to reflect a bit daily. This journal starts with an inspirational quote or challenge for the day. Then, in the morning, you are to list 3 things you are grateful for, 3 things that would make today great, and a daily affirmation. Then, when you revisit in the evening, you reflect and write 3 amazing things that happened today and how you could have made today better…pretty cool right?
  2. Drink a gallon of water a day. Yes! The more water I drink, the better I feel!
  3. Have a date with Jack. We did not have a one on one out to dinner or a movie date night but we definitely spent quality time together. I have been focusing on cooking dinners the past few weeks considering the months prior I hardly looked up from my computer so it got away from me. We had lots of date nights in that consisted of a new enchilada recipe + some newly released comedies. It was the perfect form of date nights + exactly what we both needed after a crazy couple of months.
  4. SLOW DOWN & take in every moment! I did a pretty good job at this in July. I really learned what helps me slow day…do not overschedule myself! You may think “duh” but I deal with fomo so it’s hard for me to say no! I had two weekends in the past three weeks that I was able to focus on things that had been on my to-do list that I didn’t have the time to accomplish, meal prep, organizing our place, laundry, going for walks, watching movies…all around productivity + relaxation. It has made a world of a difference + I need to remember this when I am starting to pack my calendar!

July Goal Recap:
Review + update of my processes.
I am so pleased that I achieved this goal! This will be a constant work in progress but I have a direction I am going and the foundation built. I really focused in on using the tools I use better + evaluated how I am scheduling myself. The I actually wrote a whole post simply on how I am scheduling myself so if you’re curious about that, check it out here. I am also sharing all my tools this week so keep an eye out for that!

August Goals:
I am keeping this month along the lines of July with focusing on one big goal. August is going to be all about client experience. Every step of the way! This may be one of my favorite parts of running a business so I am excited to dive in.

Let’s do this! I am rooting for you to make all your goals happen this month!
