As if Salzburg was not special to me before, being my first place I visited in Austria, I sure do thing buying my first dirndl there will make it officially it. For now at least!

The gin bar and Austrian style tapas was the evening plan. This evening goes down to be my favorite evening in Austria. I love a quaint bar that has a story and cozy feel to it. This was exactly it! Add in craft cocktails and it is hard to ever get me to leave. The bar was considered a “speak easy” bar.

My travels took me from Vienna on a 4 1/2 hour train journey to Innsbruck. Innsbruck is apart of the Tyrol region and some of you may know it from it being a destination for the Winter Olympics. It is a city located in the Alps, which makes it absolutely breathtaking. Especially if you get to experience the views I did!

I think one of my favorite parts of the whole lesson was learning about the proper etiquette. The etiquette from what to wear to how to ask and accept (or decline) a dance. If you attend a ball with a group of people, which supposedly you typically do, all the men will dance with all the women of the table.

That was my introduction to Bianca’s demo kitchen. Bianca is the head chef and our host for the evening. We are taken upstairs where they have a sommelier and large display of appetizer to snack on before we begin. We are greeted with a glass of rosé upon entering and split into three teams to make a three course meal. The three meals represent three Austrian cities – Salzburg, Innsbruck, and Vienna.
