It feels like just yesterday I was writing from Germany and I am loving being back again! If you recall from my last trip to Europe, Germany really “blew” me away. I chose to not go into any travel I have with expectations so I can form my own opinions and feelings about each place. Trust me, this is not always easy.

Willkommen to Munich

Heidelberg stole my heart and not because of the castle that it is so very famous for but because of the stories and how romantic of a city it is. I wish I could have stayed longer as I did not feel as if one day was enough.

I arrived in Würzburg and I did exactly that – beer! Many of our groups have interest in going on beer tours which consist of tasting, eating, learning some history and visiting the breweries. My day started with a fabulous tour of “Wúrzburger Hofbráu” and the produce the most beer in Germany – quantity and variety that is.

Erfurt is very quaint and it seemed as if everyone knew everybody. The streets are cobblestone and small with only a few that do actually allow cars to drive through. It is pretty special!

I had a fabulous woman showing me around and she said it perfectly, “Potsdam is an architectural trip around the world” and she could not be more right. There are many parts of Potsdam and that is probably why I walked over 35 miles – so worth it! I visited the city centre, French quarter, Dutch quarter, Russian quarter, Chinese tea house – you name it, they have it!
