It feels like just yesterday I was writing from Germany and I am loving being back again! If you recall from my last trip to Europe, Germany really “blew” me away. I chose to not go into any travel I have with expectations so I can form my own opinions and feelings about each place. Trust me, this is not always easy. 

I took many trains in Germany and there was not real reason to be nervous. It is all very user friendly and I got lucky and all my trains were on time and I was, too that worked out nicely. I had the privilege of riding first class in all of my trains but one and I can definitely say both are equally nice. In first class, there are people coming around and asking if you want something instead of you getting up to get it yourself, but everyone can always use the exercise, right?!

My final stop and journey of Germany has ended in Mainz. This city reminds me of the others, but it, too, has it’s own very special stories. Like most other, the cities highlights are the gorgeous churches that are within the city. They have different denominations but mostly lie Catholic.

“The Heidelberg Student’s Kiss” goes back to the cafe where I had lunch, Café Knösel. It all began at the café that Fridolin Knösel owned and operated. He was a chocolatier and master confectioner – can you tell why I already love this story?

Heidelberg stole my heart and not because of the castle that it is so very famous for but because of the stories and how romantic of a city it is. I wish I could have stayed longer as I did not feel as if one day was enough.
